Kayaking at Ottawa River Canada

The famous place for tourists at this area is Rideau Canal. This canal winding through the heart of the city was aptly declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

If you fancy seeing the city while gliding through the waterway, you can go board one of the many cruise and pleasure craft available in the area. The Ottawa river especially at Rideau Canal is also something to behold during winter as it transforms into the world’s largest naturally frozen skating rink.

Kayaking 101

Sexy kayakingFor my first blog post on site I thought I’d cover some of the basics of Kayaking to help people that are looking to get started. The first thing you should know is that Kayaking is not hard to learn but it does take time to master. This means that you shouldn’t expect to be a pro right out of the gate but you will be able to get from one place to another.

The best way to get started with Kayaking is to go Kayaking as much as you possibly can. Like most sports, practice makes perfect and you shouldn’t think of Kayaking as being any different. To get started you don’t have to buy a kayak and can instead rent one from a local lake. Lakes also make a great first kayaking destination since there is usually little or no current.

In recient date I kayaking at end of Maule river,near the Pacific sea.Constitution borders was the site elected.

Clay Banks

For this trip, we had originally considered going back to Cedar Lakes, but after the beating we got at the hands of a cold, strong wind on Saturday, Jason and I decided that today we needed to find somewhere that offered a little bit more sheltered water to fish. After a little discussion, we decided that the Clay Banks would be the best option.

When we arrived at the launch, we were pleasantly surprised to find not only mild winds, but a respite from the cold we had the previous day. We also saw flocks of birds diving not too far away. Looked like it was going to be a pretty good day.

West Galveston Bay Night Trip

For the first trip of the year, Jason and I decided on a night trip to West Bay.  I’ve been laid up with a cold for a week now and haven’t been able to get out, Jason went to Mud Lake a few times and only managed a few fish after grinding for hours.  After having an email conversation with Jerry a few weeks ago, we settled on a night trip to fish the causeway lights, with Tiki Island as a backup.  As it turned out, we did both.
